I.love.my.F1 laser.
So far, I'm so happy with the projects that I've made using my F1 laser machine. On a previous post, I tested blue laser engraving on paper boxes. After achieving my preferred settings on paper, I moved on to marking stainless steel pendants using the IR laser of my F1 machine.
For my first attempt with IR laser, I used one of the stainless steel pendants (from the test materials included with the purchase of the laser machine from Xtool). I was utterly pleased with the outcome of the marking (on the stainless steel). Up close, you'd feel with your nails a shallow marking. However, from afar and in an angle, the marking appeared to have a depth similar with engraving.
I suppose, as long the mark will not eventually rub out, I can continue using this IR engrave settings on my F1:
Material | Power | Speed | Pass | Lines per cm |
Stainless steel heart pendant | 80% | 10 | 1 | 200 |
This week, my orders of stainless steel envelop lockets arrived. Certainly, I had to get started.
There were two variation on designs; two colours each.
Whilst happy with the my trial engrave settings, I thought this time I would like to feel the depth of marked words on the stainless steel material. Therefore, I adjusted the engrave settings with more power and less speed.
Material | Power | Speed | Pass | Lines per cm |
Stainless steel lockets | 80% to 100% | 5 to 8 | 1 | 300 |
Let's see how they turned out, hey. :)

What do you think of the outcome?
Personally, I'm really pleased with how they turned out. I am ready to list them on my Etsy shop (along with the new wood earrings that I made).
Also this week, I plan to engrave photo on stainless steel and metal business card.
What's next for you? :)
